Re: Coxe
Dear [private],I am in receipt of your letter dated March 31st 2006 regarding an image of Gary Coxe used on our website www.consumerist.com. I have investigated the matter, and in light of your request I have asked our editor to remove the image of Mr Coxe from the site. As for the content of the post, it is clearly not confidential information, it is information that is easily and publicly ascertainable. Any comments about the quality and nature of any of Mr Coxes? belongings or his businesses are simply the opinion of an individual and have no copyright or confidentiality ramifications. Since Mr Coxe is a public and newsworthy figure, references to his businesses are also legitimate as long as it they are opinion and commentary and not a misstatement of fact. If any of these statements are factually untrue and your client would like us to print a clarification, we would be happy to do that. Please do send me the clarification via email to gaby@gawker.com and I will take care of it. In the circumstances, I trust that we can consider this matter resolved. Please do not hesitate to call me if you would like to speak further about this. Very best regards, [private] [private]@gawker.com (Mob) [private]
